So I watched the newest episode of MLP: FiM this morning. And now, even though I thought Luna fans were weird before (mostly because she had like 1 line in the whole series so there wasn't much to obsess over), I think I can call myself a Luna fan. No,
definitely can call myself a Luna fan. I really liked the redesign, even if it only altered a couple of things. Now she looks a lot more like Celestia's co-ruler rather than just her baby sister. Her characterization was good too, even if it seems a little improbable that in at least 28 weeks she couldn't have learned at least a few things about using an "inside voice," even if the only person she regularly saw was Celestia. xP But the characterization was cute nonetheless. Fan art is forthcoming. x3
And in other news:
I'M OFFICIALLY GOING TO HONG KONG! WHOOOOOO!Well,
almost officially. I have the dates set and have got my eye on the ticket, but my boyfriend is waiting to see if his family's travel agent could get it for cheaper. At more than 2k, any little discount would be nice. o_O It looks like I'll be abroad from June 11th to July 1st. I'm horribly nervous and excited at once! I hope my spoken Chinese will improve before then. I mean, duhr it will, but there's a strong possibility that I'll be speaking minimal English in that time period since Mandarin is the language spoken in my boyfriend's home and everyone outside will be speaking Cantonese bahaha! Calvin is part of an English-speaking youth group, but that's about it. Being a language nerd who has never really had the chance to be immersed in another language and sincerely work on obtaining fluency, it's a very exciting opportunity! Of course I'm still afraid of sounding like a complete idiot, especially since I'll be trying to make a good impression on his folks and learning my first second language (oxymoron? not really) at the same time.
Now I just have to get myself to Taiwan, Shanghai, Japan, and Thailand, and my longing for Asian adventures will be fulfilled at the most basic level. Technically I will be in South Korea too since we'll have a layover in Seoul but I'm not sure that should count for anything other than a tick off my barebones "Countries I've Been To" list which right now only includes the US, Mexico, and the UK. Whenever I talk to my boyfriend about his travels I always get so jealous because he's been to about 20 countries! Not fair at all.
